Session I:

Keeping Equity at the Center of Leadership During the Pandemic and Beyond

Thursday, April 15th, 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.

School and district leaders may be challenged about how to keep equity at the center of their leadership while they are dealing with safety, scheduling, and student learning concerns related to COVID-19. Join us and use a tool to consider some equity indicators for different functions in your role. A guide for administrators will be your source of resources to support your growth in keeping equity at the center of specific functions you identify.

Session II:

Equity Data Inquiry to Identify and Address Equity Gaps

Tuesday, May 4th, 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m.

Learn how to use a Data Inquiry Cycle to identify equity gaps and possible root causes for them, and to follow a process of planning and monitoring ways to address them. The Data Inquiry Guide for Exploring Equity Issues and Solutions will support your work after the session.

Session III:

Non-Violent Communication, NVC

Thursday, May 13th, 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

NVC is a process of communication in four areas: what we are observing, feeling, and needing, and what we are requesting. It has been used to build effective relationships at work and in the political arena worldwide. NVC gives a structure to focus our attention on places that have the potential to yield what we are seeking. Join us to learn and practice what many people have found to be life changing.

Session IV:

Restorative Practice

Thursday, May 20th, 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.

School-based restorative practice offers an equitable, inclusive, and respectful alternative for dealing with disciplinary infractions and a proactive strategy to create a connected, responsible school community where all members can feel valued and thrive. Join us for an introduction to restorative practice and resources to get started, from Getting Started with Restorative Practice: A Guide for Administrators and Teacher Leaders, which was developed after a request by administrators who wanted alternatives to school suspension.

Session V:

Concerns Based Adoption Model

Tuesday, May 25th, 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m.

Concerns-Based Adoption Model (CBAM) provides tools and techniques that understand the different stages of concern that most people experience when faced with a new initiative and helps leaders to identify staff concerns in order to give each person the necessary supports to ensure success. Join us to learn the stages of concern and how to identify which stages people are at based on what they are saying and doing or not doing.

*If we receive feedback that attendees would like to delve deeper into one or more of these topics, we will explore the possibility of offering more in-depth sessions on these topics next year.
