NHASCD is pleased to announce that Dr. Cara Procek has been selected to receive its 2021 Outstanding Educational Leader Award.
Procek has been an educator for 30 years. Her career has spanned many grades and subjects including positions at the elementary level, middle school language arts reading specialist, high school English, adult education, curriculum administration, and college teaching.
Cara currently serves as an Associate Professor of Education at Southern New Hampshire University where she is responsible for teaching courses focused on literacy and supporting student teachers through their culminating experiences. In addition to her work with students, Cara has a strong interest in change leadership and creating collaborative, empowering school cultures. In 2018/19 she was the co-editor of the New Hampshire Journal of Education and for several years was a co-advisor to the ASCD Student Chapter at SNHU.
Cara received a Bachelor of Arts in Education, a Master of Education focused on reading and writing instruction, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Administration, all from the University of New Hampshire, and holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Northeastern University.
The award will be presented to Cara at the 2021 NH Excellence in Education Awards Ceremony.
